The company’s name, inspired by the resilience of the bison, mirrors its dedication to producing educational content, including e-learning courses and virtual reality (VR) experiences. These tools aim to ensure the correct use of medical devices, crucial for patient safety. Bisonte is now expanding into North America, offering content in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

The expo also spotlighted cutting-edge technology, notably the AI-based solutions from Ainnova. This company focuses on early disease detection using artificial intelligence. “We have a software service solution that can detect diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and cardiovascular risks,” explained Rodrigo Herrera, Ainnova’s co-founder and CTO. The company is also researching Alzheimer’s detection using retinal images, with results provided in a mere two seconds. Ainnova’s technology seeks to democratize healthcare by making advanced diagnostic tools accessible to a broader audience, including insurance companies that could use the data for tailored plans. Herrera emphasized the importance of making these solutions affordable and accessible, potentially transforming global disease detection and management.

Further showcasing the expo’s diversity, Avante Health Solutions from Kentucky presented various innovative medical equipment. Their turbine-driven ventilator and FDA-approved incubator garnered significant attention. “We offer a combination of new private label equipment and professionally refurbished equipment for various hospital settings,” noted Kary VanArsdale, regional director. The turbine-driven ventilator, notable for its operation without a bulky air compressor, is ideal for clinics lacking sophisticated medical gas systems. The FDA-approved incubator offers a cost-effective alternative to pricier models, crucial for regions with high infant mortality rates. These innovations underscore the importance of developing portable and affordable medical equipment to meet global healthcare needs.

The expo’s visitors were equally diverse, seeking the latest technologies and solutions. Paola Duval, a second-time attendee, expressed her excitement about the event, highlighting the continuous technological advancements in the healthcare sector. Maria Amparo Yuste, a veteran of over ten FIME expos, appreciated the opportunity to explore new products, trends, and engage with clients. Gil Alejo concluded that this year’s FIME was one of the best, noting the eagerness for face-to-face, B2B interactions, which remain irreplaceable despite the digital age.
